The Role of the Djembe
The original djembe is a type of funnelled hollow wood from a tree trunk with the top of the djembe wider than the bottom. It would normally have goat skin covering the top circumference of the djembe and tied down with a special rope that tightens the skin to give the djembe that nice base and slap sound. Our teaching approach is to help you get better at playing and play the djembe well.
We will be using methods to help you learn at home using the ‘RaphaRhythm’ format.
